Still Complaining and A FREE Doodle (Christmas Choir)

This post contains affiliate links...using affiliate links from There Will Be a $5 Charge for Whining helps support this blog, our homeschool and my book addiction. Thank You!

Hello, my friends.

It's cold here in Indiana today. Not that I've been out of the house in almost a week.

I take that back. I did go to the doctor, but that barely counts, right?

I got up this morning with every intention of going to church. I got as far as making a pot of coffee, feeding the cat and fussing at Josiah to get himself out of bed.

Too much for me! I do feel better in some respects, but the thought of even putting mascara on (let alone going to church) was exhausting. You know you have been sick when you readily agree that the Orange Crush your son has been guzzling down can be counted as a fruit.

I am really, really looking forward to Christmas this year. I've been making plans. Some of those plans sound exhausting to me right now, but I know that eventually I will need those plans.

Written in sparkly pen and highlighted with jeweled stickers. That's just the way I roll.

Something I have learned throughout my years of chronic illness, etc. is that a girl really needs to have an arsenal of things that feed a creative outlet, help relieve stress and takes appreciation of those little moments. After all, those little moments are all some of us are guaranteed.

A few years ago, my momma began creating adorable zendoodles (also known as zentangles) for her people at the Nursing Home. She is getting ready to retire towards the end of December, but for the past several years she has worked in the recreational department of a nursing home in Joplin, MO. She plays music a couple of times a week, teaches art classes and a variety of other handicrafts.

A big change for her years as a Respiratory Therapist, but Momma did go to art school...so I guess it wasn't that much of a stretch.

Well, the zendoodles were a big hit. We even had a little online store for a bit. I've shared a few here on my blog. And today, I have another one for you.

Isn't this little Christmas Choir the sweetest? I think it would be adorable as a print to frame or as even a gift to give.

All you need to do is click on THIS LINK (or the picture) and you will be directed to Google Drive. There you can download a PDF of the print.

The finished copy will not have the SassyFrass watermark on it...so don't worry about that.

My favorite materials to use for coloring are a couple of things.

First, everyone must have a set of Prismacolor Coloring Pencils. They are truly beautiful and so great to use.

You can use a set of Dollar Store colored pencils, but I think that once you try these you won't ever feel the same way about colored pencils again.

There is also a bigger set (72 pencils) for some of you more ambitious coloring hobbyists. This set has a pencil sharpener (which is a necessity) included.

I don't like to use markers for these projects...they bleed through and are too heavy. Instead I opt for Gel Pens. I LOVE a good Gel Pen. They make me happy.

One of my favorite brands of gel pens are these from Sakura. They are called the Gelly Roll pens. the set you see here is the metallics. I adore anything shy and glittery and these are so smooth to use.

I also any of these pens and pencils would make a terrific gift or stocking stuffers for your Bible Journaling friends or budding artists. I know I would be thrilled to find any of these in my stocking (hint, hint).

So that's it. I hope you enjoy the sweet little Christmas Choir girls. You can find a few more Zendoodles underneath my Free Printables tab.

Another Valentine's Day Zendoodle! FREE

Dear Friends,

It's almost time for one of my favorite holidays of the year.

Yup. I'm one of the "those." It could be because I have "Wuv, True Wuv."

I am going to share a few Valentine's Day treasures for you to enjoy in the next few days.

This is one of my momma's beautiful creations. She is sooo talented. This Zendoodle is just in time for Valentine's Day.

Don't you just love the Peacock? They seem to be everywhere nowadays.  Just click on the picture and the link will take you to google drive. There you can download the PDF and print off as many as your heart desires!

Have fun coloring! I'll be back later on with some more goodies.

A FREE Zendoodle download (This is the Day)

Hello, my friends!

So it's that time of year! How are things going? Have you settled into a back-to-school routine? I even hate to admit this, but we are woefully behind on my estimated lift-off of Josiah's freshman year.

I have a VERY good reason, but I can't spill the beans just yet.  This postponement has actually been very good for me personally. Do you ever just feel you are running on all cylinders and can't keep up with your to-do list?

I see that hand, sister!

To celebrate new beginnings everywhere I am sharing with you one of my little doodles. Here is the thing. I enjoy doodling. My doodles aren't perfect. They are just what they are.

https://drive.google.com/file/d/0BwRX2XFH5lCZZ3hDOWlMLTZEcms/view?usp=sharing

You can click on  this link to download your copy. It will take you to Google Drive. It is a PDF file so you will need Adobe Reader. If you don't have Adobe Reader it is easy enough to download and it is free. The watermark (SassyFrass) won't be on the on the file.

Print off as many copies as you want to. I like coloring my doodles with colored pencils or gel pens. A hot cup of tea is also a must while doodling.

Enjoy!

FREE Valentine's Day Printables!

I {heart} Valentine's Day.

It's probably the chocolate. Or it could be that I have a fantastic reason to Celebrate the day.

Isn't he dreamy?

Of course, Valentine's Day wouldn't be complete without handing out valentine's to your special somebodies. If I happen to be your special somebody a pedicure would be really great right about now.

My mom and I have been creating something very special (that has nothing to do with chocolate or pedicure). Actually, they are "somethings."

In honor of Valentine's Day and the opening of our new online shop (SassyFrass) we would like to offer you a FREE download to one of Mom's zentangle creations.

Isn't it just darling. Of course your download will not have our watermark through it!

There are a few other Valentine's Zentangles available for purchase as well. I have been working on the shop forever and still only have a total of about 10 tangles on the store. Mom and I have created dozens.

Let me know if you are successful in your ability to grab the freebie or not. The shop is not in a format I'm used to working with so I imagine I have mistakes everywhere!

This are wonderful just to color or color and give as gifts. We find that using gel pens and colored pencils work best. Mom and I have both found very good gel pen packages at the Dollar Tree.

This particular Zentangle won't be free forever! But we will offer another FREE design next month. So download ASAP.

Also, I've created just a few notebooking pages that could be used for Valentine's Day. I plan on using these with out little reading club.

Just click each picture and the link should take you to my google drive. The borders I used came from Borders by Kelly. I just used vintage public domain graphics for the rest.

My last free printable I made for my littlest friends at our Reading Club. This is a matching game. You can print it out on cardstock or laminate. Or both. It depends on how hard your kiddos are on game pieces. The pictures are from old vintage valentines. I think they are just as sweet as they can be.

If you click on the picture it will take you to two pages of cards. Print 2 copies on cardstock or laminate.

I hope you enjoy these printables! Let me know how you use them.
