The Old Schoolhouse Expo and A Giveaway (I'm giving away a free ticket!!)

So some of us are getting our school year up and running. Our school year technically never ends (we are year round homeschoolers), but the summer months are easier and more relaxed.

I am excited about some of the things I have planned for Josiah this year. I attended my local Homeschool Convention in the spring and came away inspired.

A least for a time. I was doing some lesson planning this past week and had a few moments of panic. It’s times like these when I wish the Homeschool Convention could be held just before we start our “Big” school year. I could do with a little inspiration right now.

Fortunately, I have a solution. The Schoolhouse Expo. A couple of years ago I was fortunate to attend. I sat on my couch in my barefeet, sipping on my tea. It was wonderful! The speakers were encouraging…I was inspired…and I didn’t have to put on my favorite dangly earrings to attend.
What kind of Convention is this, you ask? (not that you would wear dangly earrings…this is me we’re talking about).

The Schoolhouse Expo is a 5 day ONLINE Homeschool Convention. Great content for 5 days…7 hours a day. You do the math. That’s 35 hours of terrific ….

Don’t worry. You don’t have to listen for all 35 hours at once. Once the convention is over you will be given access to all of the workshops and speakers.

Speaking of speakers…There are 30 of them.

Here are just a few of the speakers.

Ray Comfort: Ray Comfort is the co-host (with Kirk Cameron) of the award-winning television program “The Way of the Master. He is also the president of Living Water Publications.

Dean Butler: Otherwise known as Almanzo Wilder (of Little House fame). I know!!! I just got finished reviewing one of his videos that talks about the real Almanzo’s life. I absolutely loved It (you will have to check out my review).

Andrew Pudewa: You all know how I feel about Andrew Pudewa. He is the founder, principal speaker, and director of the Institute for Excellence in Writing.

Todd Wilson: This fella is hysterical. He is the author of Help! I’m Married to a Homeschooling Mom and The Official Book of Homeschooling Cartoons, is a dad, writer, conference speaker, and former pastor.

There are so many more great speakers…I can’t list them all. You can go and check the whole thing for yourself.

Here are some of the Workshops I already have on “I HAVE to listen to these” list.

~The Little House Legacy of Laura Ingalls Wilder {Dean Butler}
~Effective Teaching Methods for Struggling Learners {Marie Rippel}
~Taming the Techno Beast – Parenting in the Internet Age {Todd Wilson}
~Shining Armor {Hal and Melanie Young}
~The Art of Reading from Seuss to Socrates: Teaching Classics at Home {Adam Andrews}
~Teaching Boys & Other Children Who Would Rather Make Forts All Day {Andrew Pudewa}

I think there is something on the list for everybody. And this is just a short list of many more.
